EPA releases its Draft Science Strategy
The EPA has released a draft science strategy as part of its expanded role to be a defender of human health and protector of the environment. The strategy will address three key aspects:
- Better data collection
- Translating that data into useful products that set appropriate standards
- Regulatory tools that mitigate risks to the environment and public health from pollution and waste.
The draft strategy heralds the EPA’s enhanced focus on developing its scientific capability.
The EPA has also launched a new organisational strategy, Our environment, Our health, a five year plan that seeks to guide their priorities and work as they put into action the Victorian Government’s reform program.
